I was lucky enough to get to play with the Nokia Music Express 5800 at the Symbian Partners Event. It’s a nice little device. In this video, I go through some of the menus, and check out the different standby screens. This is the first three minutes I’ve spent with S60 v5. It was totally intuitive (for a S60 user).

When I say open nature, I’m referring to the fact that developers can write software which runs on a wide variety of phones in many different programming languages. Because of this openness, the amount of software for S60 phones is staggering.

Symbian Freak has compiled a fantastic list of freeware applications. They’ve thoughtfully divided the list into groupings so it won’t make your head spin. Check out the list, and post in the comments if you find an app that really excites you!
