I was fortunate to interview David Wood, Executive Vice President of Symbian at the Symbian Partners Event held December 5th 2008 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. In this interview, David talks about opening a previously closed source code, and the future of Symbian. Enjoy.

  • I finally saw this interview... Awesome job, Matt!
  • SFSucks
There's no interview for Symbian Freak. They've just copied something, as usual ....
  • SFSucks, heh Thanks for your comment. I was feeling like I've been too harsh on Symbian Freak, but I'm finding that other bloggers share my feelings. Hopefully getting called out in public will force them to change their ways.

    I notice you've got a symbianfreak.com email address... ?
  • Thanks Micky! Maybe I'll link to the story on Monday. And of course I'll give you credit for the link! : )
  • I see Symbian freak got an interview too, although not a video interview ;)

Looking forward to your other vid's.!
  • Oh, yeah? I didn't notice Symbian Freak's interview. I don't read that site any more. They don't play by accepted blogger rules.

And since I'm being so righteous, make sure to let me know if I'm slipping.
  • Great interview Matt, interesting to hear what Symbian are upto, and where they are at currently. Sounds like exciting development to come.

Oh, and by the way, love the new intro.!
  • Thanks Micky!

David Wood was so cool. He granted a nobody like me a full access interview with just an email. Let's hear it for the new openness of Symbian!

I've got a few more videos from the show that I'm trying to get uploaded. Working with HD video is tough. I think I'm going back to SD on the phones!
