N97 mini and X6 hands on

I met some friends from all corners of the globe last night at the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco. The meeting was extra awesome for two reasons:
Firstly, when I was checking my motorcycle helmet, the concierge said if I guessed the number on the coat-check tag, my dinner would be free. I was getting an “88″ kind of feeling, and BAM! That’s what it was. The concierge said in three years of offering the challenge, I was the first to nail it.
Next, after devouring our tasty dinner, out come the devices. tnkgrl and I got to play with the unreleased X6 and N97 mini from Nokia.
N97 mini first impressions
Keyboard is more rubbery, more spaced out, better key travel vs N97
Hardware is smaller, heavier, and better built vs N97
Screen mechanism is even stronger vs N97
Transitions and speed are good
X6 first impressions
Capacitive glass screen rules!
Keyboard auto-rotates between T9 and full screen qwerty, very hot!
squarish design feels great in the hand
smaller and thinner than the NW09 pictures made it look
same 5MP camera as N97
Gallery supports video editing (Merge, Change Sound, Add text, Cut) same as 5800/N97
battery is apparently outstanding, even at just 1350mAh
speakers are LOUD
32GB built in memory, no MicroSD.
charges with “old” nokia charger, not MicroUSB.
So what do you think? Are either of these Nokia’s your ideal device? I’m leaning towards the X6, but the N900 is another likely candidate. The hackability of the N900 is certainly appealing to me. But as a mature device, the X6 makes an outstanding pocket phone.
