Now, I've created the Intro in iMovie 08 and FCE, copied it to the N95. Then I merge the Intro and the Daily News file on the device itself.

In the gallery app, select a video and choose edit > video editor. If you've only got Cut and Merge, you could still get it working like I use it.

The video editor is not in any phones newer than the N95-3, so I was looking for a way to Merge the intro into my videos without the full editor. The merge function is in the Music Express 5800 and the N97, so I'm getting ready for editing on those devices.

Am I understanding correctly: You merge the intro and video inside the phone? I would love to do that. Right now the only way I see to do that is by uploading and editing in iMovie, which takes way too long.

I have a regular N95. Do you think it supports such video editing? (Your intro is great and I'd like to do similar if it does not slow down my workflow. I have actually thought about outsourcing minor video edits to India!)

In the video editor, choosing High results in a 640 x 480 video, which is about 90MB for 4-5 minutes. If I choose Medium when I render, I'll get a 320 x 240 video, which is more like 30MB.

I render one of each on the N95, then copy both files to my computer. I upload the smaller file to Blip, and the bigger file to TubeMogul, Vimeo and Ovi. The smaller Blip file is for people using the Podcasting App on thier Nokia devices, so they can download the smaller file. A Nokia currently displays 640 x 480 video as 320 x 240 anyway, so why make them download the bigger file?

Please clarify: What do you mean by 640×480 vs 320×240? Do you edit before you upload?

My workflow is to copy from phone to computer and then upload to TubeMogul. Is there a good reason to change that?

I also like TubeMogul. I use TubeMogul to upload a 640 x 480 video (edited on my N95-3) to YouTube, Yahoo, and Google video. Separatly, I also upload the big video to Vimeo and Ovi, because TubeMogul doesn't support Ovi, and their Vimeo uploading is often broken.

I also upload a 320 x 240 video to Blip, to serve as my podcast feed. I think the videos from Vimeo are better quality than Blip, but I haven't looked at that in about eight months.

I agree that uploading to the big sites helps traffic to my blog. I get more hits on YouTube than I do on my blog. If I was smart, I'd upload to every account that TubeMogul supports.

Yes, I agree very much with your principle of simplicity over professionalism. I tend to eliminate any barrier to my blogging, even if seems to enhance the value. I formerly embedded my URL on videos before posting them, but gave up on that. Started using TubeMogul yesterday so that I can post to many video platforms at once. It seems quite effective. I started using Blip.tv as my main display platform for videos, but still upload to YouTube and DailyMotion. Be interested if you had thoughts on that.

I have looked at increasing the audio quality. In the early days, I'd sometimes carry a huge bundle of wires and a tripod with me to create the daily news. I've since striped it down to the most basic, an N95 in my pocket, and a list of links.

I'm not going for a professional presentation with the Nokia Daily News. This is a labor of love, and it's not going to support too much production time realistically. I'm trying to see how far I can push the idea of creating a website basically for free, with nothing more than a great cellphone.

I got started because I wasn't satisfied with some of the video content out for Nokia devices. I'm hoping to keep the barriers of entry really really low, to inspire others to to the same.
