Have you been reading about the N900? Aren’t you dying to get your hands on one? We’re hosting a little get together centered around the Nokia N900, and we’ve got two N900s to play with.
WOM World, MOBILETRON and tnkgrl Mobile are inviting you to an intimate evening with the Nokia N900. We’ll be at Schroeder’s Pub in San Francisco, October 29th from 6:30 – 9 pm. Founded in 1893, this authentic German Beirhous has good seating for groups, decent German food, and lots of beer. They’ve got the Das Boot of beer!
The N900 will be the star of the show. We’ll demonstrate why it’s social media integration kicks so much ass, the killer email client, and the power of multitasking. This is not a presentation kind of meetup. This is a hands on time with the elusive, exclusive N900.
Please feel free to repost this, retweet this, or post it on your wall. We want to get everyone out for this meetup!

Hey, hackers! Ready to get cracking on a mature, robust mobile device OS?
The Symbian Foundation has completed it’s Open Source’ing of the Symbian kernal. This is the core component of the mobile OS which Nokia had been developing for ten years. Symbian *was formerly* a conglomeration of many companies working on Symbian together, but Nokia spent $1Billion US to buy the rights of Symbian from all the other companies, and announced they were giving it away. A noble gesture to be sure!

Continuing the topic of freedom, The Symbian Foundation is also gearing up for The Symbian Exchange and Expo in London, October 27 – 28. This free expo will feature vendors and talks from everyone using Symbian, and the talks and expo are all FREE! If you’re in London, check out SEE09.
UPDATE : All About Symbian is also hosting a Pub meetup the night before on October 26th at the Windmill Pub.
Being the hackers that they are, The Symbian Foundation has even released a WRT widget that runs on all Nokia’s back to S60 FP1, like the N95.
“The widget is a small app that will provide up-to-the-minute information about the conference schedule, twitter feeds and more. You can run it on any Symbian device with Web Runtime support”
You can download the SEE09 widget from HERE.
